چکیده
Mol. Nutr. Food Res. 2023, 67, 202200158 DOI: 10.1002/mnfr.202200158 Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is a neurotoxic disease with spectrum of neuropsychiatric abnormalities that develops as result hepatic dysfunction. Chitooligosaccharides (COS) an oligosaccharide possesses prominent biological activities including incalculable hepatoprotective and neuroprotective effects. Here, COS has been proved to ameliorate the pathological process HE through regulating gut-brain-liver cross-talk. This reported by Peng Liu co-workers in article 2200158.

Hepatic encephalopathy
Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is a reversible syndrome of impaired brain function occurring in patients with advanced liver diseases. The precise pathophysiology of HE is still under discussion; the leading hypothesis focus on the role of neurotoxins, impaired neurotransmission due to metabolic changes in liver failure, changes in brain energy metabolism, systemic inflammatory response and altera...

The liver is the most important organ for the well-functioning of other organs because of its vital role in nutrition, metabolism and secretion. Any disturbance in normal homeostasis of liver as it happens in acute liver failure (ALF) and chronic liver disease (cirrhosis) will lead to extra hepatic manifestations of liver disease, among them one is encephalopathy. And this encephalopathy caused...

Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is a brain disorder caused by chronic liver failure, particularly in alcoholics with cirrhosis, which results in cognitive, psychiatric, and motor impairments. In these patients, the number of functional liver cells is reduced, and some blood is diverted around the liver before toxins are removed. As a result, toxins such as ammonia and manganese can accumulate in th...

The integrated Rule Oriented Data Management System (iRODS) is a policy-driven data management system that is starting to be used by projects with large data volume requirements that require a highly available system. In this paper we describe an approach to provide a Highly Availability load-balanced iRODS System (HAIRS). We also describe the advantages and disadvantages of the approach and fu...
